Oncology Inpatient Nursing Unit
In 1937, St. Mary's opened the first Tumor Cancer Clinic to serve East Tennessee, West Virginia, North Carolina and Southeastern Kentucky. St. Mary's continues to treat cancer patients with the latest in technology and the spirit of healing that infuses every aspect of care at St. Mary's.
The Oncology Nursing Unit at St. Mary's Medical Center is a 33-bed, inpatient unit for patients with cancer. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach of care to provide you with the best treatment course possible. Your treatment team may consist of your primary care physician, oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, Home Care staff and social workers. Our mission is to provide patient-focused cancer care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families coping with cancer.
