Emergency Department

St. Mary's offers a full-service, 24-hour Emergency Department. Some of the features of our Emergency Department are:

Fast Track
The Emergency Department Fast Track is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. This section of the ED is designated to treat minor illnesses and injuries.

Commonly seen cases in the Fast Track are:

• Cuts
• Bruises
• Flu symptoms
• Ankle strains or sprains
• Minor car accidents
• Sore throats and earaches.

Some of these patients can be seen by a Physician's Assistant, rather than a Physician, so that they can get in and out of the ED more expeditiously.

Bedside Registration
Bedside registration is available to bring the process to the patient, rather than sending patients to various areas for information input and waiting. If there is a bed available, a triage nurse will take a patient straight to a bed, and care is begun.

The Emergency Department is located on the Huron Street side of St. Mary's Medical Center.
