Samaritan Place

As a joint effort between St. Mary's and Knoxville Catholic Charities, Samaritan Place is a short-term respite care program and also a shelter for the elderly. Samaritan Place has been created to meet the community's need for short-term and emergency housing for the elderly with service provided for 17 counties in East Tennessee.

Many families struggle to care for children and elderly relatives while maintaining full-time jobs, and the respite care part of Samaritan Place seeks to provide relief from this stressful situation and hopefully allow the elderly to remain longer in their homes. Samaritan Place is funded by Title III, the United Way, and Catholic Healthcare Partners grants and also by St. Mary's Auxiliary.
