Percutaneous Cholangiogram
Procedure time
30 min.-1 hour
Purpose
To visualize the hepatic-biliary tree.
Procedure
- Patient will come to IPU for lab, IV, etc, and then will be sent to Special Procedures when ready.
- Patient will be on his back for the procedure.
- Needle will be inserted by Radiologist through side into duct and contrast injected while taking X-rays.
- Patient will be sent to IPU or floor for 4-6 hours for observation.
- Patient must have someone drive them home.
