The Allen Medical Center Foundation plays a crucial role in the life and well being of Allen Community Hospital, enabling the medical center to enhance its services, facilities and programs for the betterment of healthcare in southern Lorain County.
New developments in medicine and technology - along with the ever-changing demographics, needs and expectations of patients - mean that in order to provide the best in healthcare, hospitals are forever reaching higher.
Yet, Allen Community Hospital is a not-for-profit organization. Its revenues cover costs and are generally not available or sufficient for major enhancements or expansion. Thus, charitable gifts obtained through the Allen Medical Center Foundation are essential for the hospital to undertake major improvements needed to continue as a high-quality healthcare provider.
Established in 1990, the foundation is the philanthropic arm of Allen Community Hospital and a separate 501c3 charitable organization. It is governed by its own board of directors and exists to benefit this hospital.
The foundation has made available more than $6 million to the hospital since 1990. The source of this money is gifts from individuals and corporations, as well as from grants and benefit events. Hundreds of donors make gifts large and small because they care about having a high-quality hospital in their community. If you are a donor, thank you! You should feel pride and deep satisfaction in knowing that your gift has made a world of difference to this community and to the more than 12,000 patients who utilize Allen Community Hospital each year.
There have been many positive changes made at Allen Community Hospital over the last few years. More improvements are yet to come, and the foundation seeks and welcomes your continuing support.
