Information:		 Provides assessment of patients regarding Recreation Therapy needs. Implements treatment programs and activities or assigns to a Rehabilitation Technician or Activities Therapist. Oversees the care provided by the Activities Therapist and volunteers. Maintains inventory needs pertaining to Recreation Therapy. Participates in the development and planning functions of the department. Knowledge of physical dysfunction, group processes, and a wide range of leisure pursuits at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation from a accredited university and certification through National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (BCTRS).
Communication skills necessary in order to effectively relate with patient, family, team members, volunteers, and with the community. Requires dexterity and manual skills to set up and assist patients in recreational activities. Must utilize creative problem solving skills and project enthusiasm.
