Maternity at Mercy
Your family, our family — maternity care at the Mercy Women's Health Centers includes services and facilities designed with your family in mind.
At Mercy, you'll:
- Stay in one private LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Care) room, designed to keep you, your baby and your family at ease.
- Take comfort in a truly at-home setting, including: comfortable furniture, a private whirlpool bath and/or shower and adjustable lighting. From the moment you are admitted to the hospital for labor, through a normal delivery and afterwards as your new family member gets acquainted, your family is able to have privacy in a peaceful atmosphere.
- Experience a nurturing and supportive environment in the care of your newborn.
- Receive an at-home visit by one of our nurses for continued instruction and support.
- Benefit from experienced maternal/child nurses available in person or by telephone 24 hours a day.
Mercy wants you and your family to have the best possible start. With single room maternity care, an experienced nursing staff, home visits, education programs and support for breastfeeding moms, Mercy has been a pioneer in maternity care.
Mercy Health Partners of Southwest Ohio is the first U.S. regional health system to be recognized for excellence in breastfeeding care by Baby-Friendly USA, implementer of the UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in the United States.
The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to encourage and recognize hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for lactation. The BFHI assists hospitals in giving breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies and gives special recognition to hospitals that have done so.

How do I prepare for life after the baby comes? What else should I expect during this time of my life?
