What is an EAP Program?

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a company-sponsored program offering assessment, short-term counseling, referral, and follow-up services for employees and their families who want assistance in dealing with the stress caused by life changes or problems. It is voluntary, private and available to all individuals wishing to seek help before a crisis or problem begins to affect their work.

Below are some frequently asked questions about our Employee Assistance Program:

How does an EAP Work?

Employees or their immediate family members may request an appointment simply by calling the EAP directly. Appointments will be scheduled at your convenience in one of our five surburban offices, or with a contracted affiliate (outside Cincinnati), close to where you live or work. You will meet with a professional EAP counselor in a relaxed, private atmosphere to discuss your concerns.

If you or your counselor decide that further assistance or more intensive treatment is necessary, your counselor will assist you with the appropriate referral.

Who provides the EAP services? Are they qualified?

Life Management Systems provides professional EAP services in both Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. All care is provided by licensed master's or doctoral level staff with specialized training in EAP services. All of the staff are skilled in a wide-variety of personal assessment and problem-solving techniques.

What is the cost of EAP Services?

The EAP is a prepaid employer benefit and there is no cost to employees or their family members. The EAP program is completely separate from any health insurance you may participate in through your company. If you are referred for additional services outside the EAP, the employee is responsible for those charges not covered by their insurance plan.

Is the EAP Confidential?

If you choose to utilize the EAP benefit, no one at your workplace will know unless you tell them. All contacts with the EAP are held in a highly confidential manner. All records and information are exclusive property of LIfe Management Systems. All federal and state laws that apply to licensed professionals apply to our staff.

How can I contact the EAP, or just ask a question?
