What Our Patients Say About Us
"I went through therapy several years ago for various problems at Mercy Mt. Airy with Barb, one of the physical therapists. On my last incident, my doctor recommended that i go somewhere else. I called Barb, told her what was going on, asked her to please help me get this straightened out. I have a choice where I would like to do physical therapy. Barb got me in with her at Mercy Mt. Airy."

"I loved going to PT. Barb is very patient and helpful. Shes does the therapy along with you, if possible. The group, also checks on you after you leave. These are the people, I, myself, can relate to the most--from years ago to recent."

"I would like to thank my trainer, Kate, and the rest of the staff of the Mercy Hospital Mt. Airy Adaptive Driving Program. From my first contact, where I requested information about the program, through the training itself, I was treated with dignity, compassion and intelligence.
We received documentation about the program promptly. Our questions were answered courteously and we made arrangements for my evaluation and training sessions.
When I arrived for my first session, the staff greeted me and processed my paperwork promptly. I didn't have to wait long for my trainer, Kate, to come out and get me to begin the evaluation.
Kate was professional and knowledgeable. We completed the assessment and review of the program then went to the training car. Kate gave me a thorough overview of the adapted car and took me to an empty parking lot to begin working with the new controls. With her patience and instruction, I got comfortable enough with the new controls, that we began training on the streets with traffic.
During the next two training sessions, Kate gave me practice driving various street, highway and maneuverability situations. Kate gave me encouragement, tips, correction and respect. She was professional and friendly as we trained.
I feel prepared to have my own car equipped with adaptive controls and the knowledge to go through the BMV testing.
My overall experience with Mercy and the program was very positive and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the program to anyone. Thank you Mercy and thank you, Kate!"
