Our Services
Mammography
The Women's Center provides mammography services, with an enhanced follow-up processing--results are available within 24 to 48 hours. We use Computer Aided Detection (CAD) "Second Look" system which enhances examination interpretations.
The "Second Look" system identifies up to 20 percent more areas of interest than the naked eye can detect. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) recommends that women between 35 and 40 years of age receive their first baseline mammogram; the NCI also suggests continued screening mammograms on a regular basis every one to two years after the age of 40. Regular mammograms reduce the risk of breast cancer by 30 percent.
DEXA Scans for Bone Health
The Women's Center offers DEXA Scans for women concerned about degenerated bone conditions; post-menopausal women ae four-times as likely as men to have osteoporosis.
The scan is also for women on drug therapies with mineral reducing or bone-weakening agents. The test is completed in a matter of minutes and results are provided within 24 to 48 hours. Same-day scheduling is usually available.
