Physicians offer free program to help smokers quit
7/29/2009 --
Drs. Michael McHenry and Todd Williams of Mercy Medical Associates – Georgetown Family Medicine are offering a new program to help smokers quit the habit once and for all.
Quitting For Life helps smokers understand why they smoke and most importantly why they need to quit.
“Smoking is both a habit and an addiction,” says Dr Williams. “Therefore, we look at behavior modification, medications and alternative approaches to break both the habit and addiction.”
As part of the programs, Drs. McHenry and Williams also share stories of success.
“We let people know that 45,000,000 Americans have already quit smoking,” adds Dr. McHenry, “and we share specific stories. This helps them understand that so many others are experiencing the same challenges with quitting and yet have been successful.”
Quitting For Life will be held Tuesday, August 25 from 7-8 p.m. in Minning Lecture Hall at Mercy Hospital Clermont, 3000 Hospital Drive, Batavia. The doctors will be available after the presentation for Q&As. The lecture is FREE, but seating is limited. Register by calling 937-378-2526.
