Mercy Providence Named "Best Senior Living" in New Albany (Nov. 2008)
 
Readers of the local New Albany (IN) paper, The Tribune, named Mercy Providence "Best Senior Living" in a recent poll sponsored by the paper.
 
Mercy Providence offers assisted living, long-term nursing care and short-term nursing care, including physical, occupational and speech therapy services. An Adult Day program (DayBreak) is also featured in the community. As recipients of the award, Mercy Providence was featured in a full page article with photos of the community, as well as a full page ad.
 
 

With a 12,000+ square foot senior center, Mercy Providence offers a variety of events for both the Providence and New Albany communities. Whether they are participating in their annual Halloween event with local community groups, or hosting events during the Harvest Homecoming Festival, the residents and staff of Providence Retirement Home are eager to meet you.

Nursing Care
 
As residents require more support, they receive compassionate care that respects their dignity. Providence's staff offers personalized care for those recovering from surgery or an illness, those working to improve strength and mobility in a rehabilitation program and/or those who need comprehensive nursing care.

  • Social and recreational activities 

Additional Services
 
Providence Retirement Home provides specialized services designed to meet the needs of older adults. Among the services, you'll find, are:
 
  • A spiritual resource center offering prayer books, tapes, inspirational readings and other materials
  • Social and recreational activities
  • Chapel for prayer and meditation
Rehabilitation Services
 
Providence offers on-site, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services. We provide physical, occupational and speech therapy to help our clients restore and maximize their activity levels and their quality of life.  
Inpatient Care
 
We provide short-term, inpatient services for people who have been discharged from the hospital, but who are not yet ready to return home. Working with the nursing and social services staff, we help the individual and family determine a plan of care that enables an appropriate and safe return home.
Respite Care

Respite care is provided in furnished, private rooms for short stays when family members or other caregivers are away. Respite care is also a way to get to know our service and compassion first-hand. Services include assistance with medication, bathing and dressing, if needed; three meals a day; weekly laundry and housekeeping service and all utilities including telephone and cable TV.

Alzheimer's/Dementia Care 
 
For our long-term care residents, we work closely with the nursing, social services and activities staff to monitor residents' daily activities and provide assistance as needed to help those residents maintain the highest quality of life in a secure and safe environment. 

Volunteer Opportunities
 
There are angels at Providence--they are the volunteers who give their time and their talent to support the residents. From the gift shop to the activity areas, the smiles and dedication of our volunteers cheer the souls of residents, staff and visitors.
