Lourdes and the Paducah Fire Department (PDF) have teamed up to make sure your baby is riding safe with the free “KIDS IN CAR SEATS” program. Trained technicians, who each complete a 32-hour course, will show you how to properly install the car seat so your child is properly restrained while on the road.

In the sixth or seventh month of your pregnancy, call 270-444-8522 to make an appointment with the fire department to learn how to install your baby’s seat correctly. You will receive a seat if you need one. Scheduling an appointment is required.
Allowing enough time before your due date to complete this most important task is essential since some babies arrive early.
When you come to your appointment, the PFD may have an emergency call and not be at the station. Please remember emergency calls take priority. If you are receiving a free car seat, and your appointment is interrupted, the car seat must remain at the station until you are taught how to correctly use it.
