Mercy Relocates Open Heart Surgery to West Knoxville The nationally recognized Baptist open heart surgery program is now located at Mercy Medical Center West. Open heart surgery completes the full array of cardiovascular services already available at the Stokely Heart Pavilion in this beautiful new facility. The pavilion features a full-service cardiology department including diagnostics, catheterization and stents, electrophysiology, and clinical cardiac research. The nationally recognized Baptist Heart program has moved to Mercy Medical Center West. The cardiothoracic surgical team at Mercy Medical Center West prepared to perform its first open heart surgical procedure the first week of November, more than a month ahead of schedule.
