The Right Emergency Care, Right Now

Springfield Regional Medical Center's High Street and Fountain Boulevard campuses both have dedicated Emergency Departments to provide round-the-clock emergency care. Patients with moderate to severe conditions that may require admission to the hospital are best directed to the High Street campus. Patients with less urgent conditions are better directed to the Fountain Boulevard campus.

If an emergency patient on the Fountain campus needs to be admitted, the patient will first be stabilized before being transported to the High Street campus for admission. Transport costs are incurred by Springfield Regional Medical Center, and there will be no added cost to the patient.

While we are providing general guidelines to direct patients to the appropriate campus for the appropriate level of care, we must remind everyone to call 9-1-1 or go to the closest facility in an emergency.

When You First Come In

Make sure you have your insurance information and are prepared to pay your co-payment. You will be asked to give consent for treatment, information about any allergies, and information about any medications that you are currently taking. The triage nurse will evaluate your medical problem, measure your vital signs, and then determine the order in which patients will be seen.

Waiting to See the Doctor

We have made several improvements in our hospitals' Emergency Departments to reduce your waiting time. Critically ill or injured patients are always seen first. Sometimes patients who need a special procedure will be seen out of order. But generally, patients are seen in the order in which they arrive.

Seeing the Doctor

The Emergency physician will review your medical history with you and may contact your physician. The doctor may order tests in the Emergency Department, send you elsewhere for more extensive testing, admit you to the hospital, or treat your condition and release you from the Emergency Department to return home.

Visitors

Family members or friends who accompany you may be asked to wait in the waiting room. The physician and nurse will determine whether you may have visitors.

Billing

CMHP billing policies are consistent with our mission and values. When you receive a bill from CMHP, it covers the services you received at one of our healthcare delivery facilities. You may receive separate bills from your emergency physician.

If you have specific questions about your account, our Customer Service Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at (937) 328-7000. You may leave a voicemail message after hours. Messages are retrieved the next business day. Spanish speaking representatives are also available.

Need financial assistance? CMHP recognizes the difficulty unexpected medical problems can cause to your finances. We are here to help so that patients can obtain medical benefits from federal, state and hospital programs. We want to assist you in finding resources that may help pay your hospital bill.
