Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea is the most common disorder treated at the Springfield Regional Sleep Center. Sleep apnea is a general term for breathing problems that occur during sleep. People with sleep apnea can stop breathing throughout the night as many as 100 times per hour
Sleep apnea affects approximately 20 million adults, and may have serious negative health effects. These effects may worsen with other health conditions.

Treatment Options
The standard treatment for sleep apnea is continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. CPAP therapy is safe, easy and does not involve medications or surgery.
Treatment for other types of sleep disorders may include medications, surgery and dental appliances.
