Nearly 40 million Americans suffer from some form of sleep disorders. The Springfield Regional Sleep Center helps patients rest better and avoid serious health risks through diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.
Patients are monitored as they sleep. The testing checks for airflow through the nose and mouth, blood pressure, electrical activity of the heart, blood oxygen level, brain wave patterns, and the movement of eyes, respiratory muscles and arms and legs.
The tests can determine the cause of a sleep disorder and are essential to finding a treatment. Talk with your doctor if you think you may be experiencing a sleep disorder.
Symptoms may include daytime sleepiness, difficulty waking in the morning, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, and loud snoring.
To find out if you may be experiencing some of the warning signs of a sleep disorder, check out a variety of tools and assessments this test by the National Sleep Foundation.
