Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Your gift to The Community Mercy Foundation may be made in memory or honor of a beloved relative or friend. All gifts give hope and life to the many people who benefit from healthcare provided through Community Mercy Health Partners. Each memorial and/or tribute gift is promptly acknowledged, without mention of gift amount, to the person(s) designated by the donor. Memorial and honor gifts may be designated for a particular program or to support areas of greatest need.
Deferred Gifts
Many donors accomplish their charitable goals while managing their tax burden through effective estate planning. Wills, trusts, gift annuities and insurance policies are all effective tools for making charitable contributions. Estate planning usually requires the assistance of legal counsel or the guidance of other qualified professionals. The Community Mercy Foundation publishes a planned giving newsletter called Investing In Our Future. Click here to download this free publication (.pdf format).
If you would like to include Community Mercy Health Partners in your estate planning, our staff can arrange a meeting with the appropriate professional(s) to assist you with that gift arrangement.
The Community Mercy Foundation can work with donors in developing any of the following:
Bequests
By naming The Community Mercy Foundation in a will, donors may save on estate and inheritance taxes while ensuring a stronger future for Community Mercy Health Partners. Donors may wish to leave a percentage of their estate, a specific dollar amount, or some other asset such as property to Community Mercy Health Partners.
Charitable Remainder Trusts and Gift Annuities
Charitable Remainder Trusts and Gift Annuities are an excellent way to use appreciated property, cash, or securities to provide a dependable lifelong income while satisfying the donor's philanthropic desire. Trusts and annuities pay an annual income to the donor and/or beneficiary, and the donor secures an immediate charitable income tax deduction while avoiding capital gains taxes and removing assets from the donors estate. After the donor's death, the annual income from the corpus benefits a designated area of need or the general Foundation endowment.
Gifts of Insurance
Donors may designate Community Mercy Health Partners as the beneficiary of all or part of a life insurance policy. Donors need only transfer ownership of the policy to The Community Mercy Foundation and name Community Mercy Health Partners as the beneficiary. Donors then make tax-deductible contributions each year to keep the policy in force.
