Message from Our Director
Dear Friends of Community Mercy Hospice,
Your interest and support is valued by Community Mercy Hospice. And it is important to us to include you in the hospice communication network. This message to you cannot possibly convey the many hundreds of reports, stories, plans and important experiences which occur every day, week, and month – however, we can focus on a few of the highlights here.
Community Mercy Hospice network stretches across Champaign and Clark counties and includes over 15 registered nurses, eight home health aides, three social workers, one chaplain, five administrative professionals, and over 50 active volunteers. Our patients and families are more than happy with our service. In fact, our family satisfaction is typically at the 100% level – that’s hard to beat, but we are still trying!
This year our census has averaged 67 patients. This number extends informally to family and friends of patients and staff. Which means at any given time, we at Community Mercy Hospice and our extended network are affecting the lives of not only hundreds, but thousands across the region. With this in mind, it helps to step back and look at the big picture – because each of us are affecting countless local families!
Please use this message as an informative guide, and pass along your knowledge to others. We are here to support, educate, and assist the Springfield, Urbana, and surrounding communities in every possible way. Also, please call us anytime you have a question about hospice care or grief and bereavement. We will always welcome your call and will take the time needed to fully answer your questions and concerns.
Best regards,
Lisa Balster, Hospice and Palliative Care Director |
