Dr. Ian Thompson:
Excel Sports Medicine
Ian Thompson, M.D., M.S., comes to Springfield from Taos, New Mexico, where he completed his Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship. Dr. Thompson completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Medical Education and Research Center through Michigan State University. He received his medical education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Dr. Thompson has served as team doctor for the University of New Mexico Highlands and a manuscript reviewer for the Foot and Ankle International Journal. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the Michigan Orthopaedic Society and the American Medical Association.
