The healthcare history in Springfield, Ohio dates back to 1887, when Mitchell-Thomas Hospital was opened to the public. The hospital, located on East Main Street, was named for two gentlemen whose foresightedness brought its establishment. It would be several decades
later that the hospital would come to be known as Community Hospital.
Today, Springfield Regional Medical Center - High Street is a full-service hospital offering highly skilled doctors, professional staff, modern facilities and high tech equipment and procedures. The hospital's surgical procedures utilize state-of-the-art equipment and the latest in laser and microsurgical instruments for general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics and more.
