Congratulations to the SRSN Class of 2009!



On June 16, 2009, Springfield Regional School of Nursing celebrated its annual commencement ceremony. Thirty-eight women and men received their nursing diplomas during the ceremony held at the Clark State Performing Arts Center’s Kuss Auditorium. As part of the ceremony, Urbana University awarded their Associate of Arts in Health Sciences degrees.

Mark S. Wiener, President and CEO, Community Mercy Health Partners (CMHP) presided over the ceremony. Dr. Michael McKee, Chairman, Board of Directors, CMHP awarded the SRSN diplomas. Dr. Stephen Jones, President of Urbana University and Dr. Tom Oates, Senior Vice-President of Academic Affairs at the university awarded the AA diplomas. The commencement address was given by Sue Baier, author of the book, Bed Number Ten. This was the 102nd graduation ceremony of the School of Nursing.

Springfield Regional School of Nursing (SRSN), formerly The Community Hospital School of Nursing (CHSN), is a proud affiliate of Community Mercy Health Partners (CMHP)! CMHP provides the area’s most comprehensive range of health care services for infants, children, teens, adults and senior citizens. The School of Nursing offers a two-year, hospital-based registered nursing program with emphasis on clinical experience. As a graduate of our diploma program, you are prepared for the Registered Nursing Licensing Examination and a career in nursing! Students are also awarded an Associate of Arts in Health Science by completing a residency with Urbana University, our partner in education.
