Description:   The Mercy Parent-Infant Center strengthens the bond of young families, as it helps new parents meet the challenges of caring for their babies. The Center offers a wide variety of services – from parenting classes to a food pantry and clothing program that help financially-challenged families.

The Mercy Parent-Infant Center also helps area youth as they make important choices for their future. The Center provides an educational program in Clark, Champaign and Greene county schools to promote sexual abstinence until marriage.

  • Active Baby Care & Toddler Loving Care classes
  • Parent support group
  • Mentor Moms – experienced parents who assist new parents
  • Material assistance program – food, baby formula, diapers, clothing, car seats
  • Home visits by RNs and social workers
  • Pregnancy tests and counseling
  • Childbirth classes
  • Health education
  • Breastfeeding group
Additional Information:   The Parent-Infant Center is conveniently located in downtown Springfield, at 40 W. High St., across the street from the city's main bus stop.

The Parent-Infant Center is open Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and evening and weekend classes are scheduled.
