Stroke Center

St. Mary's is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those individuals who experience a stroke. From the latest in emergency treatment to inpatient hospitalization and rehabilitation, patients are assured the best care from specialists in treating stroke patients with the latest medical technology.

Education is a key component of the program with emphasis on patient and family education about stroke, stroke management, and plans necessary for stroke recovery. A dedicated Stroke Resource Center is available for patients and families interested in accessing the latest research or other information on strokes.

The American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, and St. Mary’s Health System are teaming up to help reduce the rate of stroke among African American citizens by supporting the Power To End Stroke campaign. Click here for more information.

The Stroke Team commits to aggressive early intervention, progressive treatment, and rehabilitation to maximum recovery. For more information about strokes, community educational offerings, or our Stroke Center, please contact the Stroke Center Nurse Coordinator at (865) 545-6727.
