The American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, and St. Mary’s Health System are teaming up to help reduce the rate of stroke among African American citizens by supporting the Power To End Stroke campaign.

African Americans’ risk for stroke is up to four times higher than non-Hispanic whites. This is due in part to the increased rates of high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity among blacks.
