Employee and Physician Satisfaction
Employee and Physician Satisfaction surveys indicate that Mercy facilities are a great place to work and to practice medicine! A happy and satisfied staff makes for very good patient care.
Employees
On an annual basis, Mercy works with an independent research company to conduct an anonymous employee opinion survey. The purpose of the survey is to measure employees' beliefs and attitudes toward their working environment and the organization in general.
The national benchmark is an overall favorable rating of 75 percent. Mercy's combined overall favorable rating is 76%. This puts Mercy in the 78th percentile of the more than 200 facilities that use this survey tool.
These outstanding results of the employee opinion survey are a validation of Mercy's efforts to engage the hearts and minds of its employees.
Physicians
Physicians who use Mercy were surveyed by Professional Research Consultants, an independent research company. The research was undertaken in an effort to gain a better understanding of physician expectations and satisfaction levels and to allow management to identify key areas in need of attention when working toward the overall goal of enhancing hospital services.
As part of the survey, physicians were asked to rate MHP hospitals on the overall quality of care they provide and as places to practice medicine. Their responses were compared to an established national benchmark.
98% of MHP physicians surveyed rated overall quality of care in Mercy facilities as good, very good or excellent. In addition, MHP scored in the top third of all hospitals nationwide with respect to the proportion of physicians rating the overall quality of care as “excellent”.
Mercy facilities are honored to receive a ranking in the top percentile for the commitment to our mission of improving the health of our communities with emphasis on the poor and under-served. Mercy’s rating in this area was the highest ever recorded in the history of the research company.
