"Residents in Toledo's eastern communities and surrounding areas do not
have convenient access to dermatology services," said Susan Jaros, director
of Mercy Women's Care at St. Charles and Mercy St. Anne Hospitals. "Mercy
Women's Care had the capacity to expand beyond diagnostic services to meet the
need."
Laser treatments cure conditions
If you suffer from wrinkles, scars, acne scars or pigmentary problems, Mercy
Women's Care offers a special procedure to redo their appearance: MicroLaserPeel™.
During this procedure, physicians apply a topical anesthetic and then use a
laser to remove the skin's outermost layer. They usually repeat
the procedure two to four times to achieve the desired result. At first, you'll
experience symptoms resembling sunburn. But within three to four days, you'll
have smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin with a significant and immediate
change in skin texture and tightness.
Physicians use lasers to treat several other skin conditions, including:
redness
rosacea
Using laser technology, physicians gently remove these conditions from the visible
layers of the skin's surface. Afterward, you may expereince some temporary redness in
the treated area; however, this usually subsides within a few hours.
For more severe leg spider veins, physicians may perform sclerotherapy, a procedure
where they inject the viens with a medication to reduce their appearance.
Mercy Women's Care physicians perform all of the procedures. For more information on the
laser treatments, including prices and hours of operation, call Mercy HealthLink
