At Mercy we want the prospect of having a baby to be both joyous and exciting for you! However, there are times, due to a number of reasons, when expectant mothers experience more complicated pregnancies. These women are considered to be at a higher risk and need to be more carefully monitored. As part of our Mercy staff of physicians, we offer the services of two Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, also called perinatologists. Drs. Sriram Perni and Claudel Jean-Pierre have the advanced training and experience to care for you if your pregnancy is high risk. If your obstetrician sees the potential for a pregnancy related health concern, due to medical, surgical or obstetrical factors or a problem develops during pregnancy, Mercy’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists are available on a referral basis.
