WHAT IS PALLIATIVE CARE?
FACTS ABOUT CANCER

Palliative Care respects the sacredness of life throughout cancer care. It emphasizes treating symptoms to keep the patient as comfortable as possible and provides an interdisciplinary team approach that meets physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs. Patients may be seen whether or not they are undergoing active treatment for cancer.

Inpatients may be seen anywhere in the hospital. It is important to realize that no matter what the prognosis or outcome of your cancer treatment, caring continues. Patients may still face many decisions that affect their quality of life. Our specialists can speak with patients and their loved ones in detail about those choices.
