Teaching Faculty
The teaching faculty consists of a program director, associate program directors, core faculty, and volunteer dental staff, four oral surgeons, an endodontist, an orthodontist, a periodonist and a pedodontist.

M. Frank Beck, DDS, FAAHD, MAGD,FICOI
Program Director

A native of Poland, Ohio, graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1981. After completing a two-year General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center, he began private practice in Canfield, Ohio and joined the faculty at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He is a Fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentists, a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry and a Diplomat in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He served as the Associate Program Director of the St. Elizabeth Health Center Department of Dentistry from 1997-2007. He is Chairman of the Department of Dentistry Medical Research Committee, as well as a member of the Resident Recruitment Committee. He is a founding member of Sigma Xi Scientific Society of Youngstown State University. He co-founded the Northeastern Ohio Implant Society and has served as its Vice-President since 1998. His clinical interests include fixed/removable prosthodontics, implantology, TMJ and sleep dentistry.

Douglas J. Styka, DDS Associate Program Director

A native of Youngstown, Dr. Styka attended Lock Haven University for his undergraduate training and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. After completing two-years at St. Elizabeth’s General Practice Residency in Dentistry program, he opened a private practice currently in Canfield. He has been a member of St. Elizabeth’s core faculty since 2000. His clinical interests include cosmetic dentistry and endodontics.

Craig F. Mangie, DDS

A native of Youngstown, Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center and did an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. He has been in private practice in Youngstown, Ohio since 1984. He is on staff of three area hospitals: St. Elizabeth Health Center, Forum Health, and Salem Community Hospital. He is a Basic Life Support instructor and routinely lectures the Medical Staff at Salem Community Hospital for continuing education. Being interested in anesthesia, he helped establish a conscious sedation certification program. He is actively involved with maxillofacial trauma call at St. Elizabeth Health Center, which is a Level I trauma center. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Dentistry/Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.

Terrence Martzial, III, DDS
|
Dr. Martzial is a graduate from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1986. He then completed a one-year residency in General Practice Dentistry at St. Elizabeth Health Center in 1987. Dr. Martzial then associated with his father Dr. Terrence Martzial, Jr. who also graduated from the same dental school. Dr. Martzial then returned to teach in 1988-1989 and received two grants to instruct in Geriatric Dentistry at the Center. He continued to teach until taking a brief hiatus in 1995-1997 when he returned to co-direct the residency program and serve as core faculty. He currently serves as Chairman of the By-Laws Committee for Corydon Palmer Dental Society, Chairman of the Technology Committee, Mahoning County Peer Review Mediator/Examiner and is a past president of the society.

Jill K. Babinec, DDS

A native of Ohio, attended Youngstown State University for her undergraduate training and then Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree in 1997. She then completed a one-year general practice residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. She maintains a small private practice and is also an associate with Robert L. McIntosh, D.D.S. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and Corydon Palmer Dental Society.

Robert F. Ohl, DDS
|
A native of Youngstown, Ohio, received his DDS degree in 2000 from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. After completing a one year General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center, he entered private practice with Dr. Andrew Wojtkowski in Canfield. He has been a member of St. Elizabeth’s core faculty since October 2001. His clinical interests include cosmetic dentistry.

Frank Petrakos, DDS
|
A native of Ohio, graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1995. After completing a two-year residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center, he joined the faculty as an instructor/attending in surgery. In 1997, he opened his private practice. He also operates a denture clinic, which employs a full time dentist. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the American AHD. He recently was certified as a correctional healthcare professional. He has also begun a dental mission program to the Dominican Republic, where he provides dental care to the undeserved.
