St. Joseph Internal Medicine Residency
The Internal Medicine Program at St. Joseph's is approved by the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists for five (5) positions.
The internal medicine residency training program is directed by Charles H. Curtiss, D.O., and assistant program director Gretchen Nickell, D.O. Training consists of three years of general internal medicine (the first year of which may be an AOA approved specialty track internship with concentration in internal medicine and its subspecialties); or three years of general internal medicine; or two years of general internal medicine and one year of training in a subspecialty of internal medicine.
The goal of the osteopathic internal medicine training program is to provide a broad spectrum of educational experiences, and to enable residents to become competent in practicing internal medicine in a hospital or ambulatory care setting. A continuity of care experience in the ambulatory setting is provided at St. Joseph Health Center's Primary Care Center.
Each resident is expected to contribute to the medical education experience by participating in morning report, formal lectures and precept any interns/medical students rotating through medicine.
We welcome your call or visit. We would, at that time, be able to more fully explain our program, benefit package and orient you to our facility. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Medical Education Department Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at (330) 841-4774.
