The Diabetes Education department at St. Elizabeth and St. Joseph Health Center provide a wide variety of services for patients coping with the daily challenges of managing their disease. In addition to the many educational and wellness resources available, we also offer a unique outpatient insulin pump therapy service that provides greater flexibility in treating diabetes.

Support Groups
For those living with diabetes, HMHP offers regular support groups to help patients and their loved ones better cope with the daily challenges of managing their disease.

The Youngstown Diabetes Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month at the Mahoning County Senior Center. For questions or additional information on the group's activities, please call 330-480-2676.

Diabetes Resource Guides
The Diabetes Workgroup of the Community Health Care Initiatives has worked in cooperation with the medical providers, health care institutions, insurance organizations, industry and Ohio's Medicare organization to develop a community Resource Guide to assist in the enhancement of health care provision to the diabetic population of the Mahoning Valley. The Resource guide contains two sections: one is dedicated to patients, the other is designed for physicians. The contents are designed to provide an educational opportunity for individuals with diabetes and also to ensure the optimal delivery of care by area physicans.
